הוה ליה ההיא שיבבתא דקא בניא ביתא ולא מטו כשורי אתיא לקמיה אמרה ליה בניתי ביתי ולא קמטו כשוראי אמר לה מה שמך אמרה ליה איכו אמר איכו נימטו כשוריך
He asked her: What is your name? She replied: Aiku. He thereupon exclaimed: Aiku,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The name Aiku suggests to him the Greek **= Would that sc. the joists may reach the walls (Malter, Ta'an. p. 188) .');"><sup>3</sup></span> may your beams reach [the walls].
