אמר רב פפא הלכך בר ישראל דאית ליה דינא בהדי נכרי לישתמיט מיניה באב דריע מזליה ולימצי נפשיה באדר דבריא מזליה
R'Papa said: Therefore a Jew who has any litigation with Gentiles should avoid him in Ab because his luck is bad and should make himself available in Adar when his luck is good. To give you a future and a hope:<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Jer. XXIX 11.');"><sup>1</sup></span> Rab Judah the son of R'Samuel B'Shilath said in the name of Rab: By this is meant [an abundance of] palm trees and flaxen garments.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Rab Judah points out that the blessings for the future promised by the prophet Jeremiah to the exiles in Babylonia are of a material kind.');"><sup>2</sup></span>
