וכמה אמר רבא עונה והני מילי לדבר הרשות אבל לדבר מצוה מיטרידי
replied: Twelve hours.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' [H] lit., 'period'. i.e., a whole day or a whole night. If the menstruation occurs during the day, he must keep away throughout that day, and if during the night, he must keep away during all that night.
