He went and found R. Shimon b. Yohai sitting on thirteen stools of gold. He said to him: “Are you the son of Levi?” He said: “Yes.” “Has a rainbow ever appeared to you in your lifetime?” He replied. “Yes.” “If that is so [the other said] you are not the son of Levi.” But this is not so. Rather, he thought to himself, “I must take no credit for myself.”
