- R'Eliezer B'Simeon said: This can be inferred a minori ad majus: If in a case where no immersion is required,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' During the rest of the days of the year (as against the Day of Atonement) the law of the Torah does not require immersion before each service, only by Rabbinic ordinance, the purpose of which is to keep the priest conscious of risks to his cleanliness, is such immersion necessary.
