אמר רבי יוחנן השכים ונפל פסוק לתוך פיו הרי זה נבואה קטנה תנו רבנן שלשה מלכים הם הרואה דוד בחלום יצפה לחסידות שלמה יצפה לחכמה אחאב ידאג מן הפורענות

R. Johanan said : If one wakes up and a verse comes to his mouth, it is to be regarded as a minor prophecy. Our Rabbis have taught : There are three kings [to dream of whom has significance]. Who dreams of David may hope for piety ; of Solomon, may hope for wisdom ; of Ahab, he should be concerned about punishment.
