תניא כוותיה דרב יהודה אליבא דשמואל א"ר שמעון למה הדבר דומה לשלש חצירות הפתוחות זו לזו ופתוחות לרה"ר עירבו שתים עם האמצעית זו מביאה מתוך ביתה ואוכלת וזו מביאה מתוך ביתה ואוכלת זו מחזרת מותרה לתוך ביתה וזו מחזרת מותרה לתוך ביתה

The Sages, however, ruled: The three courtyards are forbidden access to one another'. It was taught in agreement with the view which Rab Judah had from Samuel:<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' That even R. Simeon only permitted access from the outer courtyards to the inner one and not vice versa.');">³</span>
