וסבר רבי יוסי רשאי ורמינהי אין עושין כתובת אשה מטלטלין מפני תיקון העולם אמר רבי יוסי וכי מה תיקון העולם יש בזו והלא אין קצובין ופוחתין

Does R. Yose really hold that “he is permitted [to give his wife a lower ketubah]”? They contrasted this with the following: A woman’s ketubah may not be made [a charge on] movable property because of the repairing of the world (tikkun olam). R. Yose: What tikkun olam is this? After all, their price is not set and it deteriorates.
