(ויקרא כז, כט) כל חרם אשר יחרם מן האדם לא יפדה למה לי מיבעי ליה לכדתניא מנין ליוצא ליהרג ואמר אחד ערכו עלי מנין שלא אמר כלום

“None proscribed, that may be proscribed of men, shall be ransomed” (Leviticus 27:29)? —Why do I need this verse? It is required for that which is taught: From where do we know that if a person was being led to his execution, and someone said, “I vow to give his value [to the Temple]” he has said nothing? As it is said, “None proscribed, that may be proscribed of man, shall be ransomed.”
