א"ל שימי את כי קאמינא משפת קנים ולמעלה

We have learnt:<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Tam. III, 9.');">²</span> There was a stone before the candlestick in which were three steps; on this the priest stood to trim the lamps.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' And if the entire height of the candlestick was only nine handbreadths, then surely the priest had no need of stone or steps to reach it.');">³</span>
