אמר רב שמן בר אבא בוא וראה כמה קשין גירושין שהרי דוד המלך התירו לו לייחד ולא התירו לו לגרש

She was permitted to Solomon,for he was a king, and a king may make use of the king'ssceptre;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., all that belonged to the King, including his harem. ');">²⁶</span> but she was forbidden toAdonijah, for he was a commoner.
