HE WHO CURSES HIS FATHER OR MOTHER BY ANY OF THEM IS LIABLE;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' V. Lev. XX, 9; Sanh. 66a; but the Sages hold that if he uses the substitutes he is exempt.');">²⁸</span> THIS IS THE OPINION OF R'MEIR; BUT THE SAGES EXEMPT HIM.
