בו שבועה דכתיב (יהושע ו, כו) וישבע יהושע בעת ההיא לאמר ארור האיש לפני ה' וגו' ודלמא תרתי עבד להו אשבעינהו ולייטינהו

[It implies] excommunication, as it is written: 'Curse ye Meroz', said the angel of the Lord, 'curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof.'<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Judg. V, 23. vkke');">⁸</span> And Ulla said: With four hundred blasts of the trumpet did Barak announce the ban over Meroz.
