רב אשי אמר הואיל וגלי גלי לא אמרינן אלא [עבודות] מנלן דכתיב (ויקרא ז, לז) זאת התורה לעולה ולמנחה וגו'

Because it is said, 'And thou shalt sacrifice the Passover-offering unto the Lord thy God, of the flock and of the herd.' Now surely the Passover-offering comes only from lambs or from goats?<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' But not from the herd, which means the larger cattle.');">²⁴</span>
