They said to him: “Rabbi, [this makes sense] if she sold the property before she was married; but what if she was married and then sold the property?” He said to them: “Even this one may sell or give away, and her act is valid.” They argued, “Since he gained possession of the woman should he not also gain possession of her property?” He said to them, “We are quite embarrassed about [the problem of] her new possessionsand you wish to involve us [in the problem of] her old ones also!”
