בפתאום ביקש המלך את עבדיו פיקחין שבהן נכנסו לפניו כשהן מקושטין והטיפשים נכנסו לפניו כשהן מלוכלכין שמח המלך לקראת פיקחים וכעס לקראת טיפשים אמר הללו שקישטו את עצמן לסעודה ישבו ויאכלו וישתו הללו שלא קישטו עצמן לסעודה יעמדו ויראו

R. Eleazar asked Rab: Which man has earned [enjoyment of] the future world? Said he to him, And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it,' when, ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Isa. XXX, 21. I.e., if one hears a voice proclaiming thus after his death, he has earned the world to come. ');"><sup>5</sup></span>

Q. Before leaving his place in order to participate in congregational services, A gave money to a Gentile and told him to hire workers immediately and build A's house. Is such an act permissible?
A. A Jew is not permitted to tell a Gentile before the Sabbath to work for him on the Sabbath.
