Q. A Scroll of the Law was torn, the tear traversing three written lines. The torn parts were glued together. Is this sufficient?
A. Gluing torn parts of a Scroll of the law, is not sufficient, for in handling the Scroll the glued parts may come apart again. Therefore, the entire sheet must be replaced.
This Responsum was addressed to Rabbi Asher b. Yehiel.
