ואמר רב המנונא הרואה אוכלוסי ישראל אומר ברוך חכם הרזים אוכלוסי עובדי כוכבים אומר (ירמיהו נ, יב) בושה אמכם וגו'

Rab Hamnuna also said : Who beholds crowds of Israelites should say "Blessed... Who art wise in secrets"; but [on beholding] crowds of idolaters he says, "Your mother shall be ashamed" etc. (Jer. 1. 12).
