Commentary for Berakhot 12:8
Whence do we learn that our father Abraham fixed a place for his prayer ? For it is written, (Gen. xix. 27) "And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he had stood". "Stood" means nothing else than prayer ; as it is said, "Then stood up Phineas and prayed" (Ps. cvL 30).
