א"ר יוחנן אחורי ארי ולא אחורי אשה אחורי אשה ולא אחורי עכו"ם אחורי עכו"ם ולא אחורי בהכ"נ בשעה שהצבור מתפללין
R. Johanan said : A man should walk behind a lion rather than behind a woman, behind a woman rather than behind an idolater, behind an idolater rather than behind a Synagogue when the Congregation is at prayer.
