בר קפרא הוה מזבן מילי בדינרי עד דכפנת אכול עד דצחית שתי עד דרתחא קדרך שפוך קרנא קריא ברומי בר מזבין תאני תאני דאבוך זבין
Bar Kappara used to sell proverbs for denarii : "While thou art hungry, eat ; while thou art thirsty, drink ; while the cauldron is still hot, pour out." "When the horn is sounded in [the market of] Rome, O son of a fig-seller, sell thy father's figs."
