וא"ר יוחנן משום ר"ש בן יוחי מותר להתגרות ברשעים בעולם הזה שנאמר (משלי כח, ד) עוזבי תורה יהללו רשע ושומרי תורה יתגרו בם
R. Johanan also said in the name of R. Simeon b. Johai : It is permissible to contend with the wicked in this world; as it is said, "They that forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with him" (Prov. xxviii, 4).
