אמר רב אשי בני מתא מחסיא אבירי לב נינהו דקא חזו יקרא דאורייתא תרי זמני בשתא ולא קמגייר גיורא מינייהו:
Rab Ashe said : [The "stout-hearted" are] the inhabitants of Mata Mehasya, for they beheld the glory of the Torah twice yearly, but not one of them has ever been made a proselyte.

A town in Babylon. It possessed a famous School of which Rab Ashe was Principal, and twice a year — before the Passover and New Year — crowds came there to hear the Torah expounded.
