העולם הבא דכתיב (משלי ו, כג) כי נר מצוה ותורה אור ודרך חיים תוכחות מוסר.
And the world to come ? For it is written, "For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching is light, and reproofs of instruction' are the way of life" (Prov. vi. 23).
Abraham Cohen Footnotes to the English Translation of Masechet Berakhot
The word for "instruction," musur, comes from the same root as jisur "suffering." "The way of life" is referred to the life eternal.
