ואם איתא נימא ליה מאן אמרה ודלמא לעולם לא שמיע ליה וכי שמיע ליה קביל ושאני התם דאיכא רווח ביתא
Now, if that were the case, he should have asked him “who said it?” But perhaps he in fact did not hear it [at first] and had he heard it he would have accepted it, but there [the circumstances are] different, since the house [of the second daughter] has now ample provisions?
