Commentary for Ketubot 81:3
מתניתין דלא כי האי תנא דתניא רבי שמעון בן יהודה אומר משום ר' שמעון אף בושת ופגם אינו משלם ע"פ עצמו לא כל הימנו שיפגום בתו של פלוני
Our mishnah does not agree with the following tanna, as it was taught: R. Shimon ben Judah said in the name of R. Shimon: So too with regard to [payment] for embarrassment and blemish, he does not pay on his own testimony because he does not have the power to defame so-and-so’s daughter.

We do not believe him - as this will publicise (lit. go out from him) a scandal that she is from the adulteresses in town:
