כי אתא רב יצחק בר' יוסף א"ר יוחנן הלכה כר' יהודה ור' יהושע בן לוי אמר הלכה כרבי שמעון אמר רב יוסף היינו דאמר רבה בר בר חנה א"ר יוחנן אמרו הלכה כרבי שמעון אמרו וליה לא סבירא ליה

ruled: The <i>halachah</i> is as R. Simeon. But did R. Johanan say thus? Surely a certain old man of Kirwaya-others say, of Sirvaya-asked R. Johanan: May a fowl-nest be handled on the Sabbath? He answered him: Is it made for aught but fowls?<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., it is mukzeh, and forbidden. Thus he does not rule as R. Simeon. ');">¹⁴</span> — Here the circumstances are that it contains a dead bird.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Hence it may not be handled, even according to R. Simeon. ');">¹⁵</span>
