Halakhah for Berakhot 106:27
למימרא דמברך עדיף ממאן דעני אמן והתניא ר' יוסי אומר גדול העונה אמן יותר מן המברך
That is to say, he who says Grace is superior to him who just responds "Amen" ; but lo, there is a teaching : R. Jose says : Greater is he who responds "Amen" than he who says Grace!
Peninei Halakhah, Women's Prayer
The audience, even those who prayed individually, must take care to answer “amen” after every berakha of Ḥazarat Ha-shatz, as the Sages teach (Berakhot 53b): ‘One who responds “amen” is greater than the one who recites the blessing.’
