Musar for Chagigah 26:11

הכי השתא בשלמא אפיה אורח ארעא לגלויי קמיה רביה כרעיה לאו אורח ארעא לגלויי קמיה רביה

How can you compare [the two]? It makes sense[for the angel to uncover] his face, [for] it is the way of the land to uncover [one's face] in front of his master; [but to uncover] his legs, it not the way of the land to uncover [one's legs] in front of his master [and thus, the wings that covered the legs were missing, for otherwise Ezekiel would not have seen them].

Mesilat Yesharim

We have already found that the great and lofty angels, tremble and quake constantly due to the exaltedness of G-d. Our sages, of blessed memory, said in their wise analogies: "from where does the Dinur river (of fire) spring forth? From the sweat of the Chayot (angels)" (Chagigah 13b).
