Musar for Chagigah 26:9

הי מינייהו אימעוט אמר רב חננאל אמר רב אותן שאומרות שירה בהן כתיב הכא (ישעיהו ו, ב) ובשתים יעופף וקרא זה אל זה ואמר וכתיב (משלי כג, ה) התעיף עיניך בו ואיננו

Which [wings] were subtracted? Rav Chananel said, Rav said, "The ones that they say praises with. It is written here, 'And with two he would fly (heb. Ye'ofeif), and this one called to that one and said (Isaiah 6:2),' and it is written, 'Shall you place (heb. HaSa'if) your eye upon it and it is gone (Proverbs 23:5).'"

Mesilat Yesharim

We have already found that the great and lofty angels, tremble and quake constantly due to the exaltedness of G-d. Our sages, of blessed memory, said in their wise analogies: "from where does the Dinur river (of fire) spring forth? From the sweat of the Chayot (angels)" (Chagigah 13b).
