א"ל ר' נהוראי השמים כן הוא תדע שהרי גוליירין יורדין ומתגרין [במלחמה] וגבורים יורדין ומנצחין

R. Nehorai said to him : By Heaven it is so. Thou canst prove it ; for behold the common soldiers go down to open the fight but the veterans go down to win the victory.
