א"ל רבי יוחנן אמרה אמר ליה אין תנא מיניה ארבעין זמנין א"ל חדא היא לך או חדת היא לך א"ל חדת היא לי משום דמספקא לי בר' יהושע בן לוי:

R. Zera asked him, "Did R. Johanan say that?" He replied, "Yes, it was taught us by him forty times." He asked him, "Is this the only one [he expounded] to thee, or was it new to thee?" He replied, "It was new to me, because I was in doubt [whether it was not a teaching] of R. Joshua b. Levi."
