פלפלי רב ששת אמר שהכל רבא אמר לא כלום ואזדא רבא לטעמיה דאמר רבא כס פלפלי ביומי דכפורי פטור כס זנגבילא ביומא דכפורי פטור

Over pepper, Rab Sheshet said: [The benediction is] "...By Whose word all things exist" ; Raba said : None at all [is required]. Raba is consistent with his opinion [expressed elsewhere] ; for he has said : If one chews pepper-corns on the Day of Atonement he is free [from guilt]; if he chews ginger on the Day of Atonement he is likewise free.
