א"ר יהושע בן לוי אע"פ שקרא אדם ק"ש בביהכ"נ מצוה לקרותו על מטתו אמר רבי יוסי מאי קרא (תהלים ד, ה) רגזו ואל תחטאו אמרו בלבבכם על משכבכם ודומו סלה

R. Joshua b. Levi said : Although a man has read the Shema' in the Synagogue, it is a pious act to read it again upon his bed. R. Assi said : What is the Scriptural authority for this ? "Tremble and sin not ; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and [[fol. 5a.]] be still. Selah " (Ps. iv. 5).
