ואין מקנחין בה

This verse, says R'Ishmael, is stated specially in order to permit the Israelites to eat flesh at will.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lit., 'of desire'. I.e., on entering the Holy Land the Israelites would be permitted to slaughter animals at will and eat the flesh without having recourse to sacrifices.');"><sup>19</sup></span>
