Reference for Ketubot 128:17

אמר רבי יוסי לא פסק שעורין וכו': אלא באדום הוא דאכלין שעורים בכולי עלמא לא אכלי ה"ק לא פסק שעורים כפלים בחטין אלא רבי ישמעאל שהיה סמוך לאדום מפני ששעורין אדומיות רעות הן:

Yose: He granted a supply of barley etc Do they eat barley at Edom only and throughout the rest of the world they do not eat? This is what he meant: Only R. Ishmael who lived near Edom granted a supply of barley equal to twice the quantity of wheat, because the Edomite barley was of an inferior quality.
