What is the case of these “minor requirements”? If the woman is in the habit of having them, they are, surely, a part of her regular requirements, and if she is not used to them what need has she for a steward? It was only necessary to teach this in a case where she was used [to them] in her father’s house but consented to put up without them when with her husband. For she can say to him, ‘Up until now, before you took a vow [to prohibit me from having any benefit from you], I was willing to put up with this, but now that you took a vow [to prohibit me from having any benefit from you] I am not able to put up [any longer] with it.
