אלא משום דכיון דלא סגיא ליה דלא עבד לה עבודה חשובה היא על כרחיך משוי לה כקבלה ה"נ כיון דלא סגיא לה דלא עבד לה עבודה חשובה היא על כרחיך משוי לה כי הולכה

This is the general rule: If one took the handful or put it in the vessel or brought it nigh or burnt it [etc.]. Now it is clear that the taking of the handful corresponds to slaughtering [of the animal-offering],<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' For as the slaughtering separates the blood (i.e. the altar's portion) from the flesh (i.e., the priests' portion) , so the taking of the handful separates the handful (i.e., the altar's portion) from the remainder (i.e., the priests' portion) .');">¹⁴</span>
