הנפנה בין דקל לכותל לא אמרן אלא דלית ליה ארבע אמות אבל אית ליה ארבע אמות לית לן בה וכי לית ליה ארבע אמות לא אמרן אלא דליכא דירכא אחרינא אבל איכא דירכא אחרינא לית לן בה

viz. : easing oneself between a palm tree and the wall passing between two palm trees; drinking borrowed water, and passing over spilt water, even if his wife poured it out in his presence.' Easing oneself between a palm tree and the wall': this was said only if there is not four cubits,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Between tem: this leaves no room for the evil spirits to pass comfortably and so they injure him.');">⁴</span>
