האי מאן דמפני אגירדא דדיקלא אחדא ליה לדידיה רוח פלגא והאי מאן דמצלי רישיה אגירדא דדיקלא אחדא ליה רוח צרדא האי מאן דפסעי אדיקלא אי מיקטל קטיל אי איעקר מיעקר ומיית הנ"מ דלא מנח כרעיה עילויה אבל מנח כרעיה עילויה לית לן בה
If one eases oneself on the stump of a palm-tree, the demon Palga<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Jast. conjectures paralysis. [Aruch: 'headache on one side of the head', megrim, connecting it with rt. meaning 'to divide'].');"><sup>1</sup></span> will seize him, and if one leans one's head on the stump of a palm-tree, the demon Zerada<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Perhaps vertigo; Rashi: megrim.');"><sup>2</sup></span> will seize him. He who steps over a palm-tree, if it had been cut down, he will be cut down [killed]; if it had been uprooted, he will be uprooted and die.
