א"ר יוחנן עצים של בבל אין צריכין רוב מתקיף לה רב יוסף מאי היא אילימא סילתי השתא פתילה אמר עולא המדליק צריך שידליק ברוב היוצא סילתי מבעיא אלא אמר רב יוסף שוכא דארזא רמי בר אבא אמר זאזא:

R. Johanan said: Babylonian woods do not require the greater part. R. Joseph demurred: To what does this refer? Shall we say, To chips?<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Because they burn easily. ');">⁵</span> But if [concerning] a wick 'Ulla said, He who kindles must kindle the great part of what protrudes,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Before the Sabbath. ');">⁶</span>
