רבא אמר הני מרריתא סתמא שמייהו והאי דקרי להו מרריתא דאגמא משום דמשתכח באגמא

Rava answered: Their ordinary name is really ‘marror", but they are called ‘marror of the marsh’, because they are found in marshes.
