והא על דבר שאין גדולו מן הארץ קתני תני על דבר שאין יונק מן הארץ:
But lo, the Mishnah reads : Anything whose growth is not from the earth! Read, "Anything which does not derive nutriment from the earth,"
Tosefta Peah
Rabbi Yosei son of [Rabbi] Yehuda says, moist [i.e., fresh] dates are exempt from Peah, because the first one does not wait for the last ones (see Y. Peah III.1.10). Rabbi Eliezer son of [Rabbi] Tzadok says, the jujube is liable in Peah. Others say, even benot shuach (translation uncertain, see Ber. 40b:21).
