וממאי דילמא שאני התם דבעידנא דנחית לשימור לא עבד לה שימור אבל היכא דבעידנא דנחית לשימור עביד לה שימור הכי נמי דשימור דלישה הוי שימור
for R'Huna said: The doughs of a heathen,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Which one recognizes as not having turned leaven.');"><sup>28</sup></span> a man may fill his stomach with them,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' On the first night of Passover.');"><sup>29</sup></span> providing that he eats as much as an olive of unleavened bread at the end.
Tosefta Pesachim
[Kernels of] wheat or barley that were soaked in water and became leavened -- behold, they are forbidden. Rabbi Yosei says, [kernels of] barley that were soaked in water and burst open, behold, they are forbidden; and [barley soaked] in vinegar, either way (i.e., whether they burst open or not), they are permitted because the vinegar contracts them (Pes. 40a:5).
