Midrash for Taanit 7:11
אמר רבי ברכיה אף כנסת ישראל שאלה שלא כהוגן והקב"ה השיבה כהוגן שנא' (הושע ו, ג) ונדעה נרדפה לדעת את ה' כשחר נכון מוצאו ויבוא כגשם לנו
This is what the prophet had in mind when he said to Israel, Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? '' And it is further written, Which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it to my mind.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' lbid. XIX, 5.');"><sup>11</sup></span>

Others say: "which I did not command": This refers to the son of Meisha the king of Moav (viz. II Kings 3:27); "and which I did not speak": This refers to the daughter of Yiftach (viz. (Judges 11:31-40); "and which never entered My heart": This refers to Isaac, the son of Abraham (viz. Bereshith 22).
