We do not know how much a Sepphoris pound was; it is also mentioned in Sifri Deut. 317. Rashi in Babli Ketubot 67b reads: בליטרא בשר, “meat for a pound (of coins).” However, the pound as unit of currency is not found before Charlemagne. to an old man every day.
